Join A1 Orange in Making Christmas Brighter
for Deserving Orlando & Jacksonville Children through
The Salvation Army’s Angel Christmas Tree Program!
Each Christmas season, The Salvation Army identifies deserving children, and then makes these “Angels” available for adoption through groups such as A1 Orange. This is A1 Orange’s 14th year with the Angel program, and in honor of our upcoming 95th anniversary — we’ve committed to 95 Angels from Orlando and Jacksonville.
Many A1 Orange business partners and friends adopt one or more Angels, often gathering support from their colleagues and tenants. The Salvation Army screens families for eligibility, and a Christmas wish list is provided to sponsors, including clothing/shoe sizes and any specific items the children may want.
Whether you like to shop — or not, you can be an Angel sponsor!
- Do you want to purchase items for your Angel? In early November, we’ll send your Angel/s clothing/gift wish list and the deadline for dropping the unwrapped items back to A1 Orange, usually around Thanksgiving. Most people purchase one or more toys/games for each child as well as an outfit, pajamas, underwear, shoes and socks — averaging $100-ish per child. OR
- Do you prefer to make a monetary donation and we’ll do the shopping? Sponsoring one Angel’s clothing/gift wish list costs about $100 — but your gift can be in any amount. You make donate via check or Zelle. For check payment, please send a check made payable to A1 Orange (PO Box 555704, Orlando, 32855) with “Angels” in the memo area. To make a donation through Zelle via your banking app, click “Quick Pay with Zelle” and “Add Recipient” cmack@a1orange.com. This goes directly into an A1 Orange bank account.
How do you sign up? Email Brenda Dost , telling us how many Angels you want and send us $100 per Angel by check of Zelle. Requests are filled on a first come-first served basis and some sponsors request a child of a particular age or sex. We do our best to match sponsors to the mix of children provided by the Salvation Army. We will give you an Angel/Angels that match your business location, unless you specify otherwise. Of course, donations in any amount are gratefully accepted and used to help fill an Angel’s wish list.
