Q: Can you tell us about this year’s conference venue?
As we say in real estate, Margaritaville has location, location, location! Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is a destination resort and entertainment complex on the legendary Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, and we will be there during prime spring dates, April 4-7, 2018.
Q: What activities are planned to capitalize on this stunning South Florida location?
In addition to many great educational sessions, The Ron Macklin Memorial Open golf tournament and dinner is on Wednesday, and there is a fun opening opening cocktail reception overlooking the ocean, complete with steel drums, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres. At Friday noon, author and Palm Beach post reporter, Elliot Kleinberg, offers a comedic, multimedia presentation, “Weird Florida,” featuring cows in the Intracoastal Waterway to haunted airliners to celebrity sex scandals.
Q: What key issues/industry trends are covered in this year’s programming?
Asset management issues from across multiple disciplines; emergency management lessons learned from Hurricane IRMA in 2017; updates on key issues such as co-working space, sharing economy, technology, and workforce issues; and sustainability and environmental performance certifications, including Canada’s BOMA BEST, LEED, BOMA 360, Energy Star, the BOMA W2 Challenge, and GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark).
